MISS LISA SUTTON

Miss Lisa Sutton began dancing as a young girl in Bethesda, Maryland. After being spotted at a local parks and recreation program by Tensia Fonseca, Miss Lisa was asked to attend Maryland School of the Ballet where she trained throughout her childhood. As a young adult, she attended intensives at American Ballet Theater on full scholarship. But it was a trip to Costa Rica as a youth ballet member, where she participated in a dance outreach project for children, that she realized that her true calling was teaching. Miss Lisa began teaching in her early teens and continued to pursue excellence throughout her young adult years…many years later, in 1996, she opened her dance program in California.

Miss Lisa was the Founder & Artistic Director of Burbank School of the Ballet, an award-winning studio that grew to be the jewel within the city. She is an internationally acclaimed award-winning instructor, who has been recognized for her work within the dance world for decades.

Miss Lisa's high standards, eye for detail, and regard for artistry is reflected in her students’ excellent technique and performance skills. Her students have been recognized with highest honors by Youth America Grand Prix “YAGP”, The Music Center’s “Spotlight Awards” and by the popular dance conventions -- Dance Masters of America, JUMP, NUVO and NYCDA.
